Usage

For unstable angina pectoris (chest pain caused by impaired circulation in the coronary hear vessels) - The daily dose varies between 75mg and 300mg acetylsalicylic acid, for improved tolerability a daily dose of one aspirin protect 100mg enteric coated tablet daily (equivalent to 100mg acetylsalicylic acid) is recommended.
For acute myocardial infarction - The daily dose varies between 100mg and 160mg acetylsalicylic acid.
A daily dose of one aspirin protect 100mg enteric coated tablet daily (equivalent to 100mg acetylsalicylic acid) is therefore recommended.
Prevention of a repeat myocardial infarction after an initial myocardial infarction (reinfarction prophylaxis) - A daily dose of three aspirin protect 100mg entericcoated tablets daily (equivalent to 300mg acetylsalicylic acid) is recommended.
Following operations or other interventions in arterial blood vessels (e.
g after ACVB in PTCA) - The daily dose varies between 100mg and 300mg acetylsalicylic acid, for improved tolerability a daily of one aspirin protect 100mg enteric coated tablet daily (equivalent to 100mg acetylsalicylic acid) is recommended.
To prevent transient ischemic attacks (TIA) and cerebral infarction following manifestation of the precursor stages - The daily dose varies between 30mg and 300mg acetylsalicylic acid.
For improved tolerability a daily dose of one aspirin protect 100mg enteric coated tablet daily (equivalent to 100mg acetylsalicylic acid) is recommended.
The enteric coated tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid preferably before a meal.
For treatment of acute myocardial infarction, the first tablet should be bitter or chewed.
The most favorable time for starting treatment with aspirin protect 100mg after an aortocoronary venous bypass (ACVB) would appear to be 24 hours after the operation.
