Pilfud contains the active ingredient minoxidil, which belongs to the group of dermatological drugs.
It is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of androgenic alopecia (excessive hair loss in men).
Do not take Pilfud:
– if you are allergic to minoxidil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
– If you suffer from coronary artery disease (problems with the coronary arteries), arrhythmias (altered heart rhythm), congestive heart failure (a condition in which the heart cannot supply adequate blood to the body) or valvulopathies (diseases affecting the valves of the heart).
In the face of other cardiovascular disorders, the use of Pilfud is subject to the judgment of the doctor.
If you have hypertension (high blood pressure) your doctor will assess whether treatment with this medicine is suitable for you and will monitor you closely.
Children and adolescentsThe safety and efficacy of Pilfud in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been studied,for this reason it is not recommended to be used.
Do not use in persons above 65 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeedingIf you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, or if you are breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Do not use Pilfud if you are pregnant or if you are breast-feeding, unless your doctor recommends it because the benefits for the mother are more important than the risk of the fetus.
The most frequent side effects are minor dermatological reactions on the skin.
The most frequent side effect is local irritation, consisting of peeling, erythema (redness of the skin), dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), dry skin, hypertrichosis (exaggerated increase in hair and hair) (in areas other than those treated with Pilfud), burning sensation and rash.
Other side effects that have occurred infrequently include:
allergic reactions (sensitization, hives, generalized erythema and swelling of the face), dizziness, tingling, headache, weakness, neuritis (inflammation of the nerves), edema (swelling due to retention fluid), eye irritation, taste disturbance, ear infections (particularly otitis externa, inflammation of the outer ear) and visual disturbances.

Only use this medicine on the scalp and nowhere else on the body.
The recommended dose is 1 ml, twice a day, apply on the areas affected by baldness, starting from the center.
The dose is independent of the surface of the area to be treated.
The daily dosage should not exceed 2 ml.
Fill the dropper to the 1ml mark.
Then apply Pilfud on the scalp, distributing the liquid by rubbing with the fingertips on the entire area affected by baldness.
Repeat until all the dose contained in the dropper has been applied.
Close the bottle carefully.
After applying Pilfud, wash your hands by rinsing thoroughly with water.
Apply Pilfud only to completely dry hair and scalp.
Do not apply Pilfud to other areas of the body.
Do not use hair dryers to facilitate the drying of Pilfud as this system may decrease the effect of the product.
Treatment lasting 3-4 months with two applications per day may be required before there are obvious signs of hair growth.
The onset of these signs and their intensity vary from patient to patient.
In all cases, the doctor will have to evaluate the opportunity to suspend the treatment if no therapeutic result is observed within this period.
