Pyrantel is a drug that acts against some intestinal parasites.
It is indicated in the treatment of some parasites such as:
ascarids, oxyurea and hookworm.
Do not use Helmintox syrup if:
-you are allergic to pyrantel or any of the other ingredients of this formulation;
-you are allergic to peanuts and/ or soy.
Pregnancy and breastfeedingThis medicine will be used during pregnancy only when absolutely necessary, and your doctor thinks it should be used.
If you find out you are pregnant during treatment with Helmintox consult your doctor immediately, as only he can decide whether to continue treatment or not.
Avoid using this medication while breastfeeding.
This is an OTC medicine, so it can be taken without a doctor’s recommendation.

The following doses are recommended:
a) Oxyuridase and ascaridase:
The most common dose is 10 mg / kg to 12 mg / kg as a single dose in adults and children.
In oxyuridase to stop reinfection should be taken a second dose 3 weeks after the first.
Strict hygiene measures should also be taken:
daily washing of the area around the anus, cleaning of the nails several times a day, regular change of pajamas and underwear.
Family members who are in contact should also be treated with this medication.
b) Ancilostomiasis:
In endemic areas, in case of Necator Americanus infection or severe duodenal ankilostoma, the dosage is 20 mg / kg body weight per day.
In case of infection with moderate duodenal ankylosis, a dose of 10 mg / kg as a single dose is sufficient.
