Sopulmin Syrup 40 mg/5 ml (sobrerol)

Sopulmin Syrup is indicated to facilitate the removal of excess mucus and phlegm in acute and chronic diseases of the respiratory tract.
Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period.
It is used in all catarrhal affections of the upper respiratory tract in which copious bronchial secretion coexists.
The syrup contains the active ingredient sobrerol, which belongs to a group of drugs called mucolytics, which decrease the viscosity of the mucus, thinning it and facilitating its elimination.
Do not take Sopulmin Syrup:
-if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
-if the patient’s age is less than 2 years;
-if you have phenylketonuria (high levels of phenylalanine in the blood), only for the use of the granules for oral solution.
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur:
-stomach upset and nausea;
-occlusion of the bronchi (bronchial obstruction).
Pregnancy and breastfeedingIf you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
In the first three months of pregnancy, use the medicine only in cases of real need under the direct supervision of your doctor.
There are no known contraindications during breastfeeding.
