It helps the mother and the baby get closer with each other.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It is a difficult and easy process at the same time. For a new mum there are a lot of questions that need answers. For example:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>When is the right time to feed the baby?<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Is my breast milk sufficient for the baby?<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>How many times per day should i feed my baby?<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>How can i understand that my baby is hungry?<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 15px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>We are going to share with you some facts and information that are going to answer your questions and hopefully make this process easier for you and your baby.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The production of breast milk goes in three different stages:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><b>The first stage<\/b> is the production of <b>colostrum<\/b>. It is a thick, usually yellow substance produced in a small amount, but that contains a lot of proteins and vitamins. It coats the intestine and stimulates the first bowel movements. Even if it is produced in small amounts, it is enough for your baby.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><b>The second phase<\/b> is the phase during which your body produces transitional milk. It is usually produced the third or the fourth day after giving birth. It contains a lot of fats and calories.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><b>The third and the last phase<\/b> is the phase of mature milk production. It is a thick, white substance that contains all the necessary nutrients for your baby.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Many medical experts recommend to only breastfeed your baby for the first six months. After the sixth month you may add solid food, but do not interrupt breastfeeding.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Breastfeeding is superior to infant formula. Use infant formula only when breastfeeding is not possible.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 29px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>How many times per day you should breastfeed?<\/b><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 11px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As your baby grows, the need for breast milk changes. A newborn needs eight to twelve feedings per day. That means you should breastfeed your baby every two to three hours.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>After the first month you should breastfeed your baby seven to nine times per day.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>As your baby gets older, the number of feedings per day decreases.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>There is no need to put an \u201calarm\u201d to know when you should nurse. It is your baby that is going to tell you that he\/she is hungry.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>If your baby is hungry he\/she:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>is going to cry;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>is going to lick the lip or suck the tongue;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>is going to open the mouth;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>is going to search the source of the food.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 17px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>The importance of breastfeeding for your baby<\/b><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 10px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wd-lazy-fade wp-image-54548\" style=\"width: 399px; height: auto;\" src=\"https:\/\/farmaon4.apptirana.al\/wp-content\/themes\/woodmart\/images\/lazy.svg\" data-src=\"https:\/\/farmaon.al\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/3decf782-image.png\" alt=\"the importance of breastfeeding\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Breast milk contains: white blood cells, steam cells, beneficial bacteria, antibodies, enzymes, hormones and other substances that help to fight infections and to prevent diseases.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Breastfeeding your baby means:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li><i>Lower risk<\/i> for gastro-intestinal infections;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><i>Lower risk<\/i> for middle ear infections;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><i>Lower risk<\/i> for urinary tract infections;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><i>Lower risk<\/i> for respiratory infections;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li><i>Lower risk<\/i> for diabetes type I and II in childhood or later;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>A strong immune system;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Healthy growth and development.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 33px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>The importance of breastfeeding for the mother<\/b><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 4px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A woman that breastfeeds:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Loses weight faster, because during breastfeeding she burns at least 400 calories per day;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Has a lower risk for ovarian cancer;<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Has a lower risk for premenopausal breast cancer;<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>It also assists the uterus to return to its pre-pregnancy state faster.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 38px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Facts about breastfeeding<\/b><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-spacer\" style=\"height: 19px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\u00a0<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Almost 75% of all mums produce more milk in their right breast.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The WHO recommends continuing breastfeeding up to two years of age.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Sweden has one of the highest rates of breastfeeding: 98%.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Breast milk makes babies sleepy.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Breastfeeding burns 400 \u2013 600 calories per day.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Babies have a powerful sense of smell.
