One question that we do all the time before going to see a doctor is: \u201cAm I going to embarrass myself if I do all the questions that come to my mind? Should I ask my doctor or not?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The situation is even worse if we go to see the gynecologist<\/strong>, and terrible if this is the first time.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A gynecologist is a doctor specialized in the reproductive health of women. A gynecologist is a doctor who has met a lot of patients, with different needs and different problems.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

He\/She probably has heard hundred times the question that you are going to make.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

According to gynecologist these are the questions that women think are embarrassing and do not want to ask. But actually they should because for a gynecologist this is not an embarrassed thing.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The question that 99% of the woman ask during their first visit is whether their vagina is normal or not?<\/em><\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

With this is meant if the size of vulva is normal, if it is different but different in a bad way or not. Now, we know that people are different, their height is different, their eye color, their hair and every part of their body. So you should not be worried if your genital area is not normal, is good or bad. There is not a standard.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Another thing that women find difficult to ask is about vaginal discharge.<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Having an unusual vaginal discharge does not mean that you have a bad hygiene. Most women don\u2019t know what to do if they have more discharge, or if the odor or color of their vaginal discharge is different. Don\u2019t be afraid to ask your gynecologist. Antibiotics, condoms, lubricants, soaps, lotions influence the odor, the consistency of your vaginal discharge. If your vaginal discharge becomes disturbing than you should see your gynecologist so he can examine you and see if there is an infection or other situation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some women pee when they sneeze or laugh and they feel really embarrassed about this fact.<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Well, don\u2019t be. It can happen. Women that have a \u201cweak\u201d bladder, women that are pregnant, women who have given birth can \u201cleak\u201d when they laugh or sneeze. It is not something incurable. Talk to your doctor and he\/she will give you the solution. Do not be afraid to ask.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Sexual discomfort is another embarrassed topic for most women. Why does it happen?<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It may happen for a lot of reasons, but vaginal dryness, is the most common cause.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Your gynecologist will see if this happens because of low estrogen levels or other reasons and will give you the best advice.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Is bleeding normal after giving birth?<\/strong><\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Yes it IS. It does not matter if you had a vaginal delivery or a C-section you will have vaginal discharge and bleeding. If it continues more than it should you have to see your doctor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

When you go see a gynecologist is not only you who is going to ask questions. Your gynecologist will ask you too and the answers must be true. You should not hide things, even if you think the answer may embarrass you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You should not hide the number of partners you have had, if you are sexually active or not, if your partner has STD, if you are using birth control pills etc.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

For these reason you should choose a gynecologist with whom you feel comfortable.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You should remember that the gynecologist is there to help you and not to judge you.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Ask every question that you have on mind and listen carefully the tips given by your doctor.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
