Description

Ibuprofen, the active ingredient in this medicine, works by reducing pain and fever.
It is indicated in children from 7 years of age for the symptomatic relief of occasional mild or moderate pain, as well as feverish states.
Do not take Ibudol Pediatric:
-If you are allergic to ibuprofen, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), aspirin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Reactions indicating allergy could be:
itchy rash, swelling of the face, lips or tongue, runny nose, difficulty breathing or asthma.
-If you have severe liver or kidney disease.
-If you have had an ulcer or bleeding in the stomach or duodenum or have suffered a perforation of the digestive system.
-If you vomit blood.
-If you have black stools or bloody diarrhea.
-If you suffer from bleeding or blood clotting disorders, or are taking anticoagulants (medicines used to “thinize” the blood).
If it is necessary to use anticoagulant medications at the same time, the doctor will perform tests for blood coagulation.
-If you have severe heart failure.
-If you are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertilityIf you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Due to the fact that the administration of this medication has been associated with an increased risk of suffering congenital anomalies/miscarriages, its administration is not recommended during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy unless it is considered strictly necessary.
In these cases the dose and duration will be limited to the minimum possible.
In the third trimester administration is contraindicated.
For patients of childbearing age, it should be noted that drugs of this type have been associated with a decreased ability to conceive.
Although drug levels in breast milk are negligible, it is recommended to consult a doctor in long-term treatments or with high doses during lactation.
This is an OTC medicine, so it can be taken without a doctor’s recommendation.

Usage

The dose of ibuprofen to be administered depends on the age and weight of the child.
As a general rule, the recommended daily dose is 20 to 30 mg/kg of weight, divided between three or four individual doses.
As a guideline, the following dosage regimen is recommended:
- Children weighing 25 to 40 kg (approximately 7-12 years):
The recommended daily dose is 600-800 mg of ibuprofen divided into 3 or 4 doses (1 sachet 3 or 4 times a day), the maximum dose being recommended daily 800 mg.
- Children weighing more than 40 kg and adolescents (over 12 years of age):
The recommended daily dose is 800 – 1,200 mg of ibuprofen per day, divided into 3 or 4 doses (1-2 sachets 3 or 4 times a day ), with the maximum recommended daily dose being 1,200 mg.
The use of other presentations with more adequate doses is recommended for the treatment of adolescents and adults.
The interval between doses will depend on the evolution of the symptoms, but it will never be less than 4 hours.
The use of this medication in children weighing less than 25 kg (approximately 7 years) is not recommended, since the dose (200 mg of ibuprofen) does not adapt to the recommended dosage in these patients.
Ibudol Pediatric is a suspension.
It should be homogenized before taking by pressing the top and bottom of the sachet with your fingers several times.
It can be taken directly from the sachet or diluted in water.
In case of gastrointestinal discomfort, it is recommended to take the medicine with meals.

ibuprofen, sodium benzoate (E-211), anhydrous citric acid (E-330), sodium citrate (E-331), sodium saccharin (E-954), microcrystalline cellulose (E-460i ), xanthan gum (E-415), maltitol syrup (E-965), orange flavour, glycerol (E-422), polysorbate 80 and purified water.
